Some Additions To My David Ortiz PC

I have been going to absolute town on Ortiz cards. Sniping on eBay, buying, selling, and trading is how all of these cards have been acquired in the past week. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be blown away with some serious David Ortiz MOJO!

Here is a David ortiz Topps Five Star Jumbo Relic card (68/92). I loved it so much that I turned around and traded for the gold variation that is numbered to /25!

You can't really see the gold border, but the /25 is clearly visible in the bottom left hand corner. Really cool card!

I acquired this one through a trade with Brad over at Brad's Blog! SICK PATCH!!!!

This is the red parallel jumbo jersey relic card from 2013 Topps Tribute. I sniped this off of eBay for a whopping $10!! I saw one sell today for $45, so not too shabby! Really nice looking design on this one. Very crisp...

This is also another cheap acquisition from eBay. People seem to be snoozing on the Ortiz cards lately...luckily, I have been pouncing on them!

Topps Marquee David Ortiz Quad Relic/Patch card /150. The patch on this one looks very sharp I thought. This was another one of my many recent steals on eBay.

This Gypsy Queen relic was acquired through a trade from a guy on Youtube. Pretty nice I think!

And the MAMMMMMMOTH hit, this David Ortiz Upper Deck Premier dual patch /15! This card is just dirty. just an unbelievable addition to add to my collection. I am so lucky to have been able to make the connection in England for it. I'm very happy with this card!

Some Updates On My David Ortiz Collection

          Well I have made some pretty sweet additions to my card collection, and my David Ortiz PC in particular. I'm also pretty excited about what I may be able to find Ortiz-wise at the card show in Raleigh, NC on July 20th. I have been saving some serious money for this show, so hopefully I will be able to find some nice things to add to my David Ortiz PC. If I can't find anything there, eBay will be having a rather serious visit from me... Before I begin to show some of the nice cards I have acquired in trades and purchases, I will ask all of you to check and see if you have any David Ortiz relic, patch, or autograph cards. If you find ANYTHING, please let me know and I will be more than willing to set up a trade or sale for the card(s). Without further a due, here are my most recent additions...

 Leaf Limited is far from my favorite product on the market right now, but I acquired this card in a trade on Youtube, and I thought since it was a nice Ortiz card I might as well pick it up. Especially with it being numbered to 15. Leaf may not be an especially reputable card maker, but the card itself sure is rare.

Here is the back of the Ortiz card. You can see in the top left hand corner that it is serial numbered  05/15.

For those of you who say that packsearching is nothing but "99 cent relic cards", I am here to show and tell you differently!

This Tom Seaver relic card is pretty da** sick. In the words of Forrest Gump..."That's all I have to say about that". I packsearched a Walmart in South Jersey after attending my Uncle's funeral. He passed just recently, and that's why I was up there. I found this card in a rack pack, and it brought my spirit up a little bit after I pulled it. Hey, I will take a numbered to 50 HOF relic card for $5 out of Walmart any day! Please note that I AM NOT one of those AVID packsearchers who make trips to find these things, I really just do it when it's convenient and want to get something better than base cards. I really feel like I rescued this card from some 10 year olds bedroom floor where it sits there and either gets stepped on or just gathers dust. This type of card simply DOES NOT belong in retail. It's just a little bit too rare. 

Going back to the Ortiz cards...

This Ortiz card is from 2013 Topps Museum Collection, and I just picked it up recently off of Ebay. I can't express how much I love this Topps product. The autographs and the patches are just so SICK! The card design is looking quite sweet also. I picked this one up pretty cheap because of the fact that the foiling on the top of the card is missing. I saw the patch on this sucker before I even noticed the foil was missing, so I knew I had to pick it up. The missing foil, to me, takes away none of the value this card holds, and I am very happy to have found it so cheap. This patch is off of one of last year's uniforms, though. It is from the 100 years at Fenway exclusive patch that appeared on the left hand sleeve of every jersey. Pretty cool!

This Anthony Rizzo autograph is a card I pulled last week at the card shop. The chipping seen at the top of the card was there when I pulled it, but it's nothing too serious. I have it on Ebay right now if anybody is interested in buying it.

This year's Gypsy Queen has also been taking a toll on my wallet! I bought 10 rack packs when it debuted and I found this autograph along with two relics in the packs. Familia has been up and down with the Mets the past season, but I expect that he will be a common face in MLB a couple of years down the road. I was watching some of his pitching on Youtube, and let me tell you, this kid has a good arm! Aside from the player himself, the autograph also has some character as it is signed sideways, and is about as crisp and clean as autographed baseball cards get. An all around nice production from Topps.

I believe I already posted about this Pedroia autograph card, but the scanned picture that people saw of it was beyond terrible. Here is a look at the card without the toploader. Without a doubt, the nicest Pedroia auto I have. It's even on card!

Getting back to the last Ortiz card of this post...

This is the 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen Magenta printing plate of David Ortiz. I was watching several of these last year and they went for about $50 a pop! I bought this card off of Ebay and was fortunate enough to win the auction by 12 cents. LOL what can I say, that's just luck! Very nice card from Topps, again!

This is the back of the Ortiz printing plate card. I'm really liking this card in my collection. It is my first 1/1 and obviously my first printing plate card.

I have several packages coming in the mail soon. One is from California and the other is from England, but both contain very nice additions to my Ortiz PC so I am very anxious to have those show up in my mailbox. So until then I might stick to posting about popular baseball gossip and rumors...Who knows what the coming days in baseball will uncover, there are surely plenty of things to converse about. It's been a while...

Wow, it has been a little while since the last time I have blogged...Don't seem to be getting nearly as much attention and hits as I am on youtube. I guess that's the way it goes though. I enjoy sitting down and blogging my stuff though, just fun to show it off to an audience who actually cares!

For those of you who don't already know, I have been dealing with the death of my Uncle whom I was closest to. He died of a massive heart attack at the age of 68...too young to die. He at least had 7 years of retirment under his belt though and had traveled across the country with my Aunt doing everything they ever wanted to do several times. So I can't say he didn't die without doing everything he wanted to do... he went to every State and National Park between New Hampshire and California, and even went to Sturgis for bike week.

 Shoutout to my beyond amazing friend, William for sending a thoughtful card my way with prayers. That just about made my day William, much appreciated!

On a brighter note though, I have been buying, trading, and selling cards like crazy lately. I wanted to share some of my more interesting things with you guys. I'm not going to waste any time, so I will just jump right into it. There is some really cool stuff here I think.

I have been digging the Gypsy Queen this year! really cool card design I think.

 

A short print mini of Ryan Braun. 1:24 packs I believe, so pretty cool. This next mini blows this one away though!

 

 

That's right, I pulled the Machado

mini rookie card! :D Manny Machado has been looking pretty good this year too, so a very nice card to have indeed. (William, for some strange reason I have an odd attraction to this card, so I hope you won't be offended if I hold onto it for now?)

 

These Blue Bordered parallels look pretty sharp. This one of Will Clark is serial numbered 195/499

 

Yes, I do a little packsearching...Nothing new to you guys out there, but I don't do it to turn around and sell the cards like most guys do. I watched a video on Youtube recently about some guys driving around on what they called a "packsearching roadtrip". Get a life...lol But this Danny Espinosa relic card fell into the right collectors hands. I love Espinosa, as he is a hustle player and plays the game with a lot of heart. Can't ask for much more in a player! I thought the relic card design looks pretty awesome though!

 

In addition to the Espinosa, I pulled this really cool Miguel Cabrera relic too! Definitely the better of the two seeing as he won the Triple crown last year. I really like this card, so won't be letting it go.

 

This is a REALLY crappy scan of this card, but it is a Dustin Pedroia autograph from 2012 Gypsy Queen I traded for on Youtube. It's a very sharp looking card, take my word for it. All I gave to the kid for it was a Robinson Cano All-Star stitches relic card from 2012...Can't really complain with that! Awesome on card auto!

 

I just got this David Ortiz 2009 UD spx patch card in the mail today! Bought it off of COMC for an absolute steal. It is serial numbered to /99. Will definitely be doing business with COMC again. I had a very painless experience with them which is more than I can say about Ebay....

 

By the way, props for ortiz dropping the F-bomb on national television. Way to go Big Papi, that was just awesome! Glad to have Otiz back in the lineup this year. I'm going to really miss Otiz when he decides to hang up the cleats.

My 2013 Topps Series One Collection.

Back again guys, this time with opinions and a brief overview of my favorite cards from 2013 Topps so far. I must say, I'm really excited about this product from Topps, it's just really hot! Well I'm not going to waste any time jumping into some of my personal favorites, so enjoy!

This Jurickson Profar rookie card is pretty awesome, seeing as he is one of the top rookie prospects this year, I love the card!

 

Notice something wrong about this gold foil card? No name and no Topps logo. Error cards are cool, just hope that they aren't too common in this years Topps products. (this card should have the Topps logo and Shelby Miller printed on the front)

 

These emerald sparkle cards are awesome! I really love the color of emerald and have always been a sucker for green, so way to go Topps! I thought this Yu Darvish was nice and I also really liked this Sean Marshall as well. (you may be wondering who Sean is and why I like him. It's because I know him personally and have taken pitching lessons with him)

 

Short print of Jon Jay. Pretty cool on the "Out of Bounds" theme for the short prints, I like them!

Chasing the Dream relic card of Matt Moore. The relic designs for this years series one and two are looking HOT!

 

Cut To The Chase die cut cards look really cool! Brett Lawrie is probably the best one I have there. I have two of Cargo, and two of Berkman if anybody is interested in a trade...

 

So this card has seemed to spark quite a lot of arguements on Youtube already...people are bickering about whether or not it's a "1/1". Personally I think it is. Here, take a closer look....

 

This is what the serial number on the back reads. (0001/2013) So what do you guys think? I think it is cool! 1/1? I have no idea now....I always thought when you got number one out of a serial number it was unique and was a "1/1"....Please, let me know what you all think about it though, because at this rate, I have no idea whether it's even relevant or not. I had to remove 2 videos from Youtube already because of trashy choice comments shot back in forth between two users (who will remain nameless). One arguing about it being a 1/1, and the other arguing that it wasn't a 1/1...I have no clue anymore so if somebody can clarify, that would be greatly appreciated.

Some random cards from random packs...

While I have been busy lately, the card buying has not ceased, in fact it has been in full swing! These are cards from 2012 update series, 2012 Topps Bowman Platinum and various other cards...Enjoy!

This Jean Segura blue refractor I pulled from a Hobby pack...Good luck trying to pull it retail!

 

This Tyler Matzek green refractor I pulled retail out of one of those silly rack packs. Pretty nice card to pull out of Bowman Platinum.

 

This Liam Hendricks was also pulled from a Hobby pack. From 2010 Bowman Chrome if I recall correctly. He was projected to be a pretty good prospect, but he doesn't seem to be making a huge impact in the majors thus far...Still, a very fine blue refractor.

 

These two relic cards were pulled retail out of Hanger boxes I believe. The Robinson Cano is ehh being a Red Sox fan, but the Miguel Cabrera is pretty neat seeing as he won the Triple Crown in 2012.

Trade with William

Hey guys, it's been a while, I know. I have been primarily focusing on my Youtube channel that is exploding at the moment, and I have been really busy between my awesome girlfriend, and not so awesome school work. I have also been filling out job applications and looking at colleges, so the time I normally set aside for blogging has and had been forfeited for more important things. But you will all be glad to know that the card buying, trading, and selling has not been forfeited, and with that, I will show you one of my most recent trades with my buddy William. Here are the highlights of the package!

This Jarrod Saltalamacchia Allen and Ginter relic card is pretty nice, it has earned a spot on one of my custom card shelves.

 

 

This Jim Rice bat card from Topps 2013 series one is pretty awesome too! This was the main card of the trade and I love it!

 

 

I will be updating with more posts here a little bit more often now, and you guys need to stick around to see it! I have some pretty cool stuff to show off right now...Hope you guys enjoyed! I'm out!

 

I need YOUR help!

So I was digging around in some of my cards today, and I came across this Topps American Heroes autograph of Col. Gordon R. Roberts. He is a decorated army guy, who has gotten one of the most respectable medals, the Medal of Honor. Only, this isn't what this post is about...I'm not going to get into all of the honorable things he has done, or how he got the medal. I have ONE simple question for you guys. How rare is this card, and about how much do you think it's worth? I have found NOTHING on this cards price, rarity, or print run. I was kind of bummed too, because I KNOW it's rare, I just don't know HOW rare. All I know about it is that is found 1 in every 303 packs, hobby.

 

Now, if any of you folks could help me out with this, it would be very much appreciated. You see, I got it at a consignment shop several years ago in Blackstone, Va. We were just walking the small streets of the town and I decided to walk in the shop. My eyes went straight to the three packages of cards sitting under a glass case behind the counter. I asked the man if I could take a look at the packages, as they had already been opened, and he let me go through the packs. I wanted to see if there was anything decent inside. Well the first pack I slipped the cards out and  saw autograph sticker. I immediately shoved it back into the wrapper and bought all three backs for 5 dollars...That's how I got it, but if any of you blogggers could help me out putting a price on this card, PLEASE let me know. I don't know anything about it, and haven't been able to find anything on Ebay, COMC or any other sites. Not even Google displayed any results for it. Thanks guys, I'm out!
